Heinrich Rohrer and Gerd
Binning received the Nobelpreis from IBM the research
lab in Rüschlikon with Zurich for the first
realization of a raster tunnel microscope. It
did not only draw the development of numerous
further raster microscopes, but it has above all
a working on the nanometer scale, i.e. within
ranges from a billionth meter, revolutionizes.
The nano-technology which is based on it is from
greatest scientific, technical and economic importance.
